

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Powell and James Thompson, and by her dearly loved sister, Norma Hopper.
At the age of 12, Frances accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and faithfully followed Him throughout her life. Guided by her deep faith and strengthened by the example of her mother, she met life's challenges with grace, courage, and perseverance.
On June 10, 1952, Frances married the love of her life, Sam Cook. Together they built a home filled with faith, love, and devotion, sharing nearly 74 years of marriage.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Sam; her children, Jeanne (William Beardall), Laurie (Jim Canata), Sam Cook Jr. (Becky), Jane Cook, and Russell Cook (Stephanie); and her eight grandchildren: Sarah, Emily, George, Hannah, Rebekah, Sam, Ben, and Daniel.
Frances was also the cherished great-grandmother of eleven great-grandchildren: Matteo, Harrison, Rose, Winnie, Eleanor, Charlotte, Boone, Emmett, Beau, Joseph, and Sammy Luis. She loved each one deeply and was loved in return.
Frances leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, devotion to God's Word, diligent Bible study, and faithful prayer. Her influence will continue for generations and into eternity through the lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Frances's Comfort Keepers caregivers, her "guardian angels," whose loving care, compassion, and support brought comfort and dignity during her final days.
A Funeral Service will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia 30120, on June 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Burial will take place at Evergreen Burial Park, 1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24015.
