

Franklin was born on July 15, 1931 in Taylorsville, GA, son of the late Dr. W.K. Cousins and Sally Hardman Cousins.
Franklin graduated from Rockmart High School. He began his college work at Young Harris College and obtained his BS Degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama, then his Masters of Education Degree from West Georgia College.
Franklin taught school at Adairsville Elementary where he was very proud of his students.
While growing up in Taylorsville, Franklin enjoyed scouting activities. He worked hard and earned all the badges, which enabled him to be honored as an Eagle Scout.
Franklin was very active in his community and was a thirty-year member of the Cartersville Retired Men’s Group that met once a week, where he served as the Special Programs Coordinator for most of that time.
Franklin was also a very proud member of Cartersville First Baptist Church, where he served as a door greeter, a loyal delivery volunteer with Meals on Wheels and was active in the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Franklin is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Barbara Ralston Cousins; son, Paul (Jo) Cousins; daughter, Beth (Renji) Philip.
Both the visitation and the Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Cartersville First Baptist Church, in the new chapel (241 Douthit Ferry Rd., 30120). Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family at 11am. Following the visitation, the Service will be at 12pm (noon). Rev. Danny Barker and Kathy Barker will be officiating.
Following the service, the burial will take place at Taylorsville Cemetery (53 Church St., Taylorsville, 30178) where he will be laid to rest in his family’s lot.
Serving as pallbearers are Renji Philip, Kyle Johnson, Michael Garland, David Turner, Bob Bergeron and Dr. Tim Ryan.
