I have many fond memories of Papa Don and I, but the one that sticks out the most is the time we went to drop off a cake. I was driving and we were leaving the subdivision heading to Wes-man's when he looks and tells me, "It's okay my way." Then he proceeded to tell me that, when he would still drive, he would have his window rolled down so he could hear the vibrations of other cars because at this time he was fully blind in his left eye.

Not blood, but our family bond was inseparable. Papa Don was instrumental in my development and was still working on me all the way until he went to be with the Lord. He taught us all so much and meant the world to me. We are so very thankful God blessed us with all of the memories and life lessons Papa taught us all. He inspired me to be a Soldier, but even more heroic that he taught me to be a God fearing and family loving man. May he be reunited with his son and they await all of our reunion one day in Heaven with the Lord.

I don't have recent pictures of me and Papa Don but so many memories will live on. We spent a lot of time together when I was younger and I will cherish the times we spent together. We love you Papa Don.
