

Mrs. Summey was born March 17, 1924 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late, Frank and Annie (Chitwood) Wilson and was a self- employed hairdresser for many years and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Cartersville Cosmetologist Association and The Cartersville Mediacal Center Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard W. Summey, sisters, Ollie Edwards, Mildred Berrong, Thelma Orton and Mary Bramblett and brothers, Howard, James, Ralph, Carl and Bobby Wilson.
Surviving is her daughter and son in law, Brenda and Kenneth Chitwood of Cartersville, two grandchildren, Ginger Matthews of Cartersville, Leigh Ann Mulkey (Bo) of Cartersville, three great-grandsons, Preston and Levi Matthews and Landon Mulkey, sister, Betty Tidwell of Cartersville and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. David Baker and Rev. Dewey Atchley officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Preston Matthews, Levi Matthews, Landon Mulkey, Paul Wilson, Glenn Summey, Joe Wayne Edwards and Griffin Padgett.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cartersville Medical Auxillary. (Pink Ladies)
A special thanks to her caregivers, Ellen Bearden, Charlotte Lewis, Helen Barnette, Amedisys Hospice and the staff of Davita Dialysis.
