

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glynis Ann Cornett, age 90, of Cartersville, Georgia, on July 2, 2026. She was born in Smyrna Georgia on March 2, 1936 to Glenn A. Abercrombie and Suzanne May Abercrombie.
Glynis is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Suzanne Abercrombie, sister and brother-in-law Marie and Kenneth Ross, sister-in-law Frankie Cornett Reinhardt, brother-in-law Harold Cochran, and nephew John Abercrombie.
Glynis leaves behind a legacy of immense devotion, warmth, and grace. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 69 years, Don Cornett, whose partnership was a true testament to enduring love and commitment. She is also lovingly remembered by her children, Leslie Crowe (Todd), Rebecca Cornett, Eric Cornett (Angie), Nancy Burge (Reid), her cherished grandchildren Christopher Crowe (Miranda), Zachary Crowe (Heather), Madison Rutledge (Garrett), Avery Cornett, Ian and Jack Burge, and great-grandchildren, Charlie, Colton, Wylie, Chloe and Mylie Crowe, Chezni and Langston Rutledge, brother Phillip Abercrombie (Jane), sister-in-law Carol Cornett Cochran, and several nieces and nephews.
She gave selflessly, loved unconditionally, and found joy in caring for her family and friends and especially the love of her life Don. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and quiet strength touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a source of comfort, wisdom, and endless love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, grace, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Owen Funeral Home, Cartersville, Georgia where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Connesena Baptist Church, 71 Connesena Road, Kingston, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Brandon’s Chapel Baptist Church, or Connesena Baptist Church.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her devoted family, loving husband and cherished friends. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love will remain with us always, guiding us and reminding us of the precious gift she was in our lives. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by God's love, until we meet again.
