H. Allen Green

Allen was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Allen was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. Allen was born on December 23, 1939 to Hoyt Allen Green and Helen Elizabeth Brown Green. He attended Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia and graduated in 1957.

On January 16, 1965 he married Martha Ann Bryson Green in Cartersville, GA. Allen worked for Good Year Tire Co. in Atco for over 20 years, then went on to spend many hardworking years on the family farm. Allen enjoyed his long days on the farm and cherished his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Mary Kathryn Green. Allen is survived by his wife Martha “Ann” Green of 52 years; daughter Beth Green Ellenburg; son-in-law Tim Ellenburg; granddaughters Shelley Elizabeth Dunn, Natalie Elisabeth McElrath, and Dr. Ashley Leeann Nash; great grandchildren Hunter, Ethan, and Madison McElrath; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Allen took great pride in his family and taught his grandchildren and great grandchildren to work on the farm, love family, and to be thankful.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 1st of December, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Crawford Greeson officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville, GA.

Serving as pallbearers are Robert Knight, Dewey Bryson, Hunter McElrath, Ethan McElrath, Steve Nash and Hogan Nash.

Honorary pallbearers are Tony Smith, Harry Neal Green and Mikki Cornejo.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until seven on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emerson First Baptist Church, Building Fund.
