Harold was one of my best friends.  We maintain a true friendship from the time I was 10 years old. My brothers and I would walk to his store for candy and conversation.  Harold always had a wonderful way of making everyone feel important.  Over the years we would call each other and catch up. Harold invited me on several trips because we had common interests in the love of history and people. We met once a week at Martin's or McDonald's and sat with many friends over coffee and breakfast.. most of them brought cookies and other treats 
 It was a lovely way to start our day
 Laughing and giving thanks for the blessings of friendship.  When his brother passed he came to my house and we sat in his car for several hours just sharing his memories of his life with such grand kindness and love. Many people assume horrible things about our friendship.  I can say with the gratitude that Harold was nothing short of a true friend.  The last time we spoke he said he was in the hospital and he sounded great. Harold was always very strong and never focused on himself.  His love for God and humanity shows in his legacy.  He found a lost daughter and was able to spend time with her.  His daughters Jill and Kim were some of my greatest childhood friends.  Jill was my best friend 
 I thank God for allowing our friendship to surpass time, misunderstanding and negative thoughts.  I'm forever grateful to have had such a true friend in my life. Harold always jokes about his funeral and made me promise to be there. If I had known I would have fulfilled my promise.  
Much love to the family.  
His spirit is greatly missed.  There's no doubt we will see each other again. True friends for life and beyond.

I’m so sorry for your loss of y’all daddy. I worked for Harold at the little cafe in Kingston. He taught me how to make gravy. His was better than mine. I enjoyed working for him he was always telling stories about different stuff and people. My prayers are with you his children and families. He was a good man. I know he will be missed.
