
Mr. Ross was born October 24, 1925 in Bartow County, Georgia son of the late Caro Charles Ross and Fannie Mae Bozeman Ross. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cartersville and was veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated C&W Luncheonette for 25 years and later owned and operated Ross’s Diner. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Devas Ross, Marlin Ross, Conston Ross, Eldon “Stumpy” Ross, Mattie Ross Dowda, Grace Ross Bradley, Alver Ross Puckett, Etta Lou Ross Hobgood, Ellie Mae Ross.
Mr. Ross loved sitting on the bench in front of Ross’s Diner, loved fishing and loved his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children; Harold E. Jr. & Terri A. Ross, Rick & Sharon Ross; grandchildren; Christopher Ross, Burl Ross Dye, Brittany Williamson Ross, Sally Dooley, John Dooley; great-grandchildren; Wade & Madison Dooley, Hadley & Maggie Dye; special friends; Fuzz, George, Sam; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning June 23rd at 11:00 A.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randall Williams, Drew Startup and Bobby Gayton officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Carl Boyd Post, American Legion in charge of military rites.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Jeffery Ross, Wesley Ross, Steve Bradley, Larry Hobgood, Joe Dowda, Kenneth Ross. Honorary pallbearers include George Sisk, Fuzz Cornett, Sam Allen, Chris Sisk, Bobby Dye, Harold Hobgood, James Ross “Hoss” Hobgood.
