

He was born on January 13, 1948, to the late Warren Lloyd Thacker and Ollie Estelle Green Thacker.
Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Harriett Lavern Thacker; his son, Jamie Lloyd Thacker; his sister, Dorothy Anne Thacker Goocher; and his brothers, Lloyd Junior Thacker, Edgar Thacker, and Wayne Thacker.
He is survived by his son, Harold (Lea) Thacker; his grandsons, Casey (Morgan) Thacker, Caden Thacker; granddaughters, Whitney Johnson (Blake), Cammie Land (Cody), Kayla Sellers (Dylan), and Allyson Amberson (Jaden); and his great-grandchildren, Logan Johnson, Maverick Land, Collin Amberson, Easton Thacker, Luke Sellers, Levi Johnson, Micah Land, Lettie Amberson, and Lane Sellers. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Thacker Springfield.
Harold was a graduate of Cass High School and Coosa Valley Technical College. He was a devoted member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and retired from the Bartow County Water Department after more than 20 years of service.
He enjoyed wrestling and was an avid gun and knife collector. Harold loved old country gospel music, as well as music from the 1960s and 1970s. He loved his Chihuahua named ‘Baby Girl”. He found joy in riding around, visiting the mountains, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM, with a Celebration of Harold’s Life to follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, GA 30120.
Casey Thacker, Caden Thacker, Cody Land, Dylan Sellers, Jaden Amberson and Blake Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Durden, Logan Johnson, Warren Thacker and Jesse Blackmon.
