

Mrs. Harriett "Lavern" Thacker, 72, of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Lavern was born in Cartersville, GA on March 20, 1947 to the late Mr. Dallas Reagan and Mrs. Mildred Martin Reagan.
Lavern was a devoted mother and wife. She loved to shop, watch old movies and was a great fan of Elvis. Most of all, she loved her family. She adored being Nanny to her grandchildren and later, her great grandsons. She was a great dancer and just enjoyed life. Lavern was a lover of gospel music and was a fantastic singer. She loved her brother and sisters. Lavern was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church . Lavern will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lavern is preceded in death by her parents, son, Jamie Lloyd Thacker, and sister, Wylene Hodson.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harold Thacker, son, Harold T. (Lea) Thacker, granddaughters; Whitney (Blake) Johnson, Cammie (Cody) Land, Kayla (Dylan) Sellers, Allyson (Jaden Amberson) Thacker, grandsons; Casey (Morgan) Thacker,and Caden Thacker, great grandsons; Logan Johnson, Maverick Land, and Collin Amberson, sisters; Margie White, Mary (Danny) Ghorley, and Wilma Croy, and brother, Ricky Reagan. Many nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Lavern's memory.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at three o'clock in the afternoon with the Rev., Darryl Tidwell, and Mike Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cartersville. Serving as pallbearers will be: Casey Thacker, Caden Thacker, Blake Johnson, Cody Land, Dylan Sellers, and Jaden Amberson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be; Timmy Durden and Blake Matthews.
The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29 from five o'clock in the evening until eight.
