Hazel Cantrell

Mrs. Cantrell was born April 18, 1920 in Bartow County, a daughter of the late Glenn and Dora Dowda Cline.

She was a lifetime member of the Center Church of God of Union Assembly and was employed by Nantucket Mills until 1969. In her later years she served a number of Cartersville families as a care-giver. Mrs. Cantrell loved her family and enjoyed canning and singing in church.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Cantrell, she is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jan and Larry Pass, a daughter, Angela Metz, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Jo Ann Lewis and Mildred Lewis, and a brother in law, John Cantrell, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Cantrell, her brothers, Glenn Cline, Jr., J.C. Cline and Charlie Cline and a sister, Ethel Bryson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 18, 2011 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Kennedy, Rev. Phil Gentry and Rev. Jeffrey Gentry officiating. Interment will be in the Center Church of God cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alton Carter, Charleston Faulknor, Sean Henson, Tommy Henson, Danden Kennedy and Andrew Kennedy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Thursday.
