

Mrs. Gilmer was born on March 2, 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of the late Emery Allen Crump and Sally Gibson Crump. She was retired from Sears Roebuck and Company and was a member of the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley A. (Red) Gilmer; 2 brothers, Harold Crump and Herman Crump.
Survivors include her children, Joan Brumbelow (Donald), David Gilmer (Debra), Warren Gilmer; grandchildren, David Wayne Gilmer, Jeffrey Gilmer, Melissa Gilmer, Warren Gilmer, Wesley Gilmer, Ava Gilmer, Jason Brumbelow, Jessica Cox, Jenny Bunch, Briana McEntyre, Chad Brumbelow, Marina Morgan Hawley; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Gilmer, Taylor Gilmer, Trent Clark Gilmer, Ashley Clark Gilmer, Glenn Elizabeth Gilmer, Ren Gilmer, Micah Cox, Emilea Ruth Cox, Zephamiah Cox, Charlotte Bunch, Anna Gracelyn McEntyre, Chayla Brumbelow, Jerrica Brumbelow, Courtney Brumbelow, Caleb Brumbelow, Gettie Gilmer, Wyatt Gilmer; sister, Jeanette Knight; brother, Horace Crump; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Friday, February 16th at 2:00 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Captain Scott & Michelle Lyles and Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Interment services will be on Saturday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in East Point, Georgia.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
