Jim was born on September 27, 1944 in Marietta, GA, son of the late Clyde Boland and Mary Evelyn Riser Boland.
After Jim was born, he and his family moved to Columbia, SC where he resided until moving back to GA in 1994. He graduated from Dreyher High School where he played football. After high school, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a retired salesman. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved being on the golf course, boating and traveling in the camper. The joy of his life was spending quality time with his family and especially his two grandchildren, Lawson and Luke Belcher. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church where he was a member of The Young at Heart Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Jan Lewis Boland; his three children, Daniel (Rennie) Boland and Christopher (Beth) Boland all of South Carolina and Adam (Ariel) Belcher; grandchildren, Lawson and Luke Belcher; brother, Glen (Carol) Boland of South Carolina; nephew, Lane (Elizabeth) Boland and their children Claire, Nora and Rose Boland.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 17th of January, 2024 at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Ron Goss, Jr., Eddie Broughman and Perry Hill will be sharing special memories.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from twelve o'clock in the afternoon until the hour of service at Rowland Springs Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Promedica Hospice, especially Carla Smith, Amanda Lawson and Balerie "BB" Byers for the tender loving care given to Jim.
