James Robert Groves, 80, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. Born on November 1, 1944, James was the beloved son of the late John and Katherine Groves. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Groves.
A proud veteran, James served honorably in the United States Navy. After his military service, he went on to build a long and dedicated career at Goodyear, where he retired after more than 30 years of hard work and commitment.
James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Billie Smith Groves, two sons, James Groves and his wife Samantha, and Todd Groves and his wife Tate. He was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren: JJ, Sydney, Traver, Treyson, and Tyner, who brought him immense joy and pride.
James will be remembered for his quiet strength, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
