Mr. James C. (Jimmy) Head

Mr. Head was born July 31, 1949 in Bartow County, the son of Mary Odell Cowart Head and the late J.C. Head, was an Industrial Engineer employed at Shaw Industries for over 30 years and was a member of Brandon’s Chapel .

He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Head, his wife, Susan Ann Bell Head and his grandparents.

Surviving are his daughters and sons in law, Kim and Danny Howell of Cartersville, Leigh and Chris Thorpe of Wilson, North Carolina, Allison and Kevin West of Cartersville, five grandchildren, McKenzie, Samuel, Calvin, Makayla and Shelby, his mother, Odell Head of Kingston, sisters and brothers in law, Linda and Russ Shaver of Cartersville, Buster and Beth Head of Rockmart, Penny and David Sullivan of Cartersville, Timmy Head of Kingston and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Windsor and Rev. Scott Shepard officiating.

Burial will follow in Eurharlee Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be nephews; Jay and Jon Shaver, Brandon, Cody, Ben and Cole Head and Mike Mercer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brandon’s Chapel, 136 Old Stilsboro Road, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
