

Mr. James Andrew Hilton, 78, of Cartersville, GA passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. James was born on June 23, 1941 in Altoona, GA to the late Mr. F.M. Hilton and Mrs. Odie Maybelle McMichen Hilton and spent his later teen years with Mr. Charles and Mrs. Elizabeth Butler.
James was a devoted husband of almost 42 years and loving father and grandfather. He was a very active member of Wofford's Crossroads Baptist Church where he served as a deacon's assistant. James was also a former Sunday school director, ran the sound system and was on the maintenance committee. James and his wife were avid campers and enjoyed spending their time in the mountains. James loved hot rods and antique cars and was also a member of "The Coachman Club" in the 1950's. He also loved being granddaddy to his two grandchildren. James will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, and mother and father-in-law, Mrs. Vera and Mr. Will Lipscomb, whom he considered his own parents.
He is survived by his wife, Veda Lipscomb Hilton, daughter, Alisha Hilton Kennedy and son, Drew Hilton, grandchildren; Olivia and Will Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Wofford's Crossroads Baptist Church, White, GA with the Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Duane Knight, Joe Nardil, Richard LeClaire, Roy Newberry, Paul Barrett and Brandon Broadaway.
