OBITUARY
James E. Reeves
July 29, 1924 – March 2, 2014
James E. Reeves passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. He was a son of the late Edward & Bessie Reeves and was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Reeves; first wife Pauline Bunch Reeves and second wife Marjorie Simpson Reeves. He is survived by his brother Jack & Annette Reeves, niece – Terri & Barry Jones, Step daughters, Carla & Jack Smith, Jan Simpson and Becky & Tony Fox and a very special friend and caregiver Peggy Smith. Also surviving are a number of step- grandchildren and great grandchildren; Brothers & Sisters In Laws – Gene & Ann Bunch, Franklin & Jane Bunch, Ronny & Linda Bunch; Sister and Brother-In-Law are Hazel & Pete King and Kim B. Morrow Mr. Reeves retired from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation and was past Owner/President of Reeves Cleaning Service.
Mr. Reeves served in the Marine Corp and was a veteran of World War II. He was a deacon of Heritage Baptist Church; also, life member of American Legion Post 42 and Past Commander, life member of Cartersville Elks Lodge, Past President of the Cartersville Kiwanis Club, Hixon Fellowship Kiwanis Club, past member of The Salvation Army where he served on the Advisory Board and past planning commission member.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Gene Bunch, Ronnie Bunch, Griffin Tidwell, Steven Jones, Kellen Smith and Ennis Denham.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 4, 2014; 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014; 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Michael Tutterow and Rev. Jeff Wright Officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Salvation Army, 16 Felton Place, Cartersville, GA or Heritage Baptist Church, 1070 Douthit Ferry Road, Cartersville, GA
