James H. Shaw III

Mr. James Henry "Hank" Shaw III, 71, of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11. Hank was born in Atlanta, GA on January 1, 1949 to the late Mr. James Henry Shaw, Jr. and Mrs. Hilda Henley Shaw.

Hank was a loving and devoted father. He was a graduate of Cartersville High School, where he helped win the Men's Golf State AA Championship in 1967. He earned a golf scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University where he served as president of his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and received his bachelor's degree business administration. He then married Jeanie Shaw on June 11, 1972. Hank was also Bartow County Chamber of Commerce President as well as the President of Cartersville Country Club. He had a successful career in insurance. Hank will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his son, James "Jim" Henry Shaw IV, and his parents.

He is survived by his sons; Joshua Shaw, Johnathan (Jessica) Shaw, grandchildren; Ava McKenzie Shaw, James "Jase" Henry Shaw V, Sawyer Shaw and Sadie Shaw, siblings; Kathy (Michael) Howren, Randy (Mary Anne) Shaw, Carter (Gale) Shaw, and Susan Linsey, and mother of Hank's children, Jeanie Shaw. Many nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Hank's memory.

A Celebration of Hank's Life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the James Henry Shaw IV Foundation.
