

Jane Marea Graves, age 89, passed away on January 28, 2021 in Cartersville, Georgia. Jane was born on March 17, 1931 to the late James Harris Blake Jr. and Marea Iley Blake in Houston, Texas. Along with her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Isaac Graves; son, Philip Graves; daughter, Marea Graves Bradfield; brother, and Dr. James Blake III. She is survived by her sons, David (Patricia) Graves and Michael (Joy) Graves; daughter, Beverly (Thomas) Baribault; grandchildren, Kimberly Bradfield, Stephen (Rebecca) Bradfield, Emily Baribault, and Abigail Graves; great grandchildren, Cayden Bradfield, Elise Bradfield and Norah Bradfield and many extended family members and loving friends to cherish her memory.
A native Texan, Jane spent most of her childhood in her beloved hill-country of Kerrville, Texas. Her fondest memories included living next door to her grandparents, fishing, camping and riding horses with her father. After graduating with honors from Tivy High School, she attended the University of Colorado-Boulder Campus and Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. While at Trinity, Jane participated in the “Trinity Treo” as a soprano while also majoring in music education.
In 1951, Jane was hired by Delta Airlines as an international flight attendant/stewardess, flying routes to South America and the Caribbean. In 1954 Jane married Charlie and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Jane loved family and friends and especially loved traveling the world with them. Together they lived in New Orleans LA, Swanton OH, Springfield MO, Evansville IN, New Braunfels TX, Knoxville TN and made their final home in Cartersville, GA to be near family. In her later years, Jane loved spending time in Blue Ridge, GA at her mountain cabin. Jane was an accomplished artist and musician and enjoyed both her entire life. She continued her education attending University of Missouri and University of Tennessee, completing her education with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian studies from the Masters International School of Divinity, in December of 2011. Jane lived a full life of unwavering faith, filled with love and adventure. She will be missed by all that have known and loved her.
A celebration of eternal life will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Georgia National Cemetery immediately following the service at 1:30pm.
