Jean Edwards Armstrong

Jean Edwards Armstrong, age 93, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Jeasn was born on October 5, 1932 in Folsom, GA to the late Paul Leon Edwards, Sr. and Rosa Godfrey Edwards.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John “J.T.” Armstrong; her sons, Danny Armstrong, Mathew Armstrong, and Johnny Armstrong; and her brothers, Fred Edwards, Jack Edwards, and Ronald Edward; and step-mother, Nell McElrath Edwards.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Heather Adams (Tyler) and Brianna Arney (Joe); her great-grandchildren, Sophie Adams, Lakley Adams, and Aiden Arney; her brothers, Paul Edwards and Henry Edwards; her sisters, Alice Huggins and Betty Jean Cordle: and daughter-it-law, Emily Armstrong.

Jean was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingston. She retired from Shaw Industries, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She loved the beach, gardening, cooking big country meals, and trout fishing. Above all, she loved her granddaughters and adored her great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, with Bro. Tommy Harris and Bro. Jason Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Hayes Cemetery in Adairsville.
