Jeanette Smith Tatum was born in Bartow County on Feb 15 1937. She attended Cass High School where she met her husband Max. Together they raised their three children, Terri Warlick of Cartersville (Graham), Randy Tatum of Dalton (Mitzi), and Jennifer Garner of Rockmart (Bob); 9 Grandchildren, Jason Shaw, Tatum Shaw, Joshua Tatum, Jessica Tatum, Hannah Hart, Caleb Tatum, Logan Garner, Parker Garner, and Lola Garner; 6 great-grandchildren and sister, Patricia Fowler.
She was a devout Christian and member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, a wonderful grandmother and homemaker she also helped her husband at their industrial supply company. She loved to bake and was famous among her family and friends for her gift of southern cooking. Among her many famed homemade meals, her most legendary was Christmas morning breakfasts.
Nothing got past her and her sharp sense of humor. She loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves. She bowled on the women’s bowling league and pitched for the Women’s Bartow County softball league well into her forties.
We already miss her deeply, but are comforted in the knowledge she is now with her recently departed husband Max of 68 years who passed away the week prior. Jeanette and Max are both deeply missed by their beloved family.
Private family services were held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
