Jerry Wayne Sligh

We are sad to announce the loss of our daddy Jerry Wayne Sligh. He passed away on February 27, 2024. He was 64 years old. Jerry was born in Cartersville, Georgia on November 22, 1959, to Talmadge Eugene Sligh and Betty Louise Wade Sligh – both who preceded him in passing. Jerry is survived by his daughters Tara and Selena Sligh, Selena’s fiancé Bobby Mathis, Jerry’s sisters Evelyn Connell and Elizabeth Smith, as well as Elizabeth’s husband Gene Smith. He is also survived by his grandchildren Raven, Crystalyn and Crimson Price, Lillian Wolfe and her husband Cody Wolfe, Victoria and Dillon Hester, Lance, Jada, and Dylan Stark. Jerry also has six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William, sister Peggy Joyce, nephew Travis Sligh and brother-in-law Lee Connell.

Our daddy was not just a father, but a brother, an uncle, a nephew, and a Pawpaw. He loved animals, especially cats, and brought joy to our lives with his youthful and playful spirit. He was also a wonderful artist, having painted the Cass Colonel on the floor of the gymnasium at the old Cass High School. To our daddy, brother, uncle, nephew, and Pawpaw, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 with visitation from 12-2pm at Owen Funeral Home. Burial with follow at Mountain View Church of God Cemetery.
