Jimmy Wesley Simpson

Mr. Simpson was born May 2, 1947 in Cartersville, the son of the late Ernest and Sudie Brooks Simpson.

Mr. Simpson’s greatest love was spending time with his family. He enjoyed having his children and grandchildren over for nightly dinners and cookouts. He also was an avid animal lover and bread and raised hunting beagles. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Mr. Simpson is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Dwayne Simpson.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Simpson; daughters and sons-in-laws, Aundrea and Michael Ezell of Kingston and Lisa and Christopher Cox of Kingston; son, Ricky Simpson of Kingston; grandchildren, Mike and Jennifer Ezell, Mark Ezell, Shayla and Jordan Rosa, Brittany and Brianna Simpson, Shane and Amanda Blackmon, Eric and Jessica Blackmon, Chris Blackmon, Amy Gregg and Tyler Cox; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Craig and Jan Howard, both of Cartersville; brothers, Stanley, Kenneth and Charles Mulkey, all of Cartersville; a special friend, Dillard Dover.

A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2013 from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Marlon Haney officiating.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2013 from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home.
