Joan Ellen Kennedy

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Bobby Lee Kennedy, and her parents, JD and Mildred Dover.

She is survived by her children, Tony Raymond (Elaine) Clark of Rockmart, Georgia; Jason Clark of Marietta, Georgia; Amanda Chere Lawson of Rydal, Georgia; and Priscilla (Matt) McClure of Acworth, Georgia. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Clark (Ash), Brandon Clark Davidson (Jaden), Rosaria Clark, Christopher Clark, Sydney Clark, Alyssa Lawson, Rowen Lawson, Emma McClure, Ella McClure, Ava McClure, and Axel McClure; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Aaliayh Clark, Dakota Clark, and Riley Clark.

Joan's greatest joy in life was her children and family. Her strength, determination, and unwavering devotion to them—especially her children and grandchildren—were unmatched. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family, always making sure their needs were met, even if it meant going without herself. Her grandchildren lovingly knew her as "Mawmaw," a title she treasured.

She maintained a close bond with her family and looked forward to every gathering they shared together. Joan found happiness in scrapbooking, card making, painting, and all types of crafts. She also enjoyed hunting and camping with Bobby, as well as spending time at the beach creating cherished memories.

Joan retired from the Cobb County School System after many years of dedicated service as a paraprofessional, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues through her kindness and compassion.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Brother Kenny Jacobs officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth, Georgia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Clark, Tyler Clark, Brandon Clark Davidson, Matt McClure, Shane Brown, Rowen Lawson, and Jody Lawson.
