Joe Boyd Moore

Mr. Moore was born in Euharlee, Georgia, June 10, 1922, son of the late William and Minnie Beavers Moore. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army as an MP. He was retired from Goodyear, Union Carbide and the Atlanta Journal & Constitution. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Opal Stephenson Moore, his second wife, Hazel Reinhardt Hill Moore; brother, Fair Moore; sisters, Grace Moore, Eleanor Taylor, Madge Tilly.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Moore Fowler; son-in-law, Harold Edward Fowler; step-sons, Billy Hill (Joan), Jerald Hill (Sarah); grandson, Edward Boyd Fowler; step-grandsons, Michael Fowler (Tracy), Matthew Fowler (Gail), Cleve Hill (Allie), Seth Hill (Nichole); sister, Edna Rice; brother, Rev. Charles Moore; a number grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Nix and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
