Mr. Habers was born on April 23, 1932 in Queens, NY, son of the late John Habers and Viola Anderson Habers. Mr. Habers was a long-time resident of Kings Park, NY before he and his wife, Mrs. Pat Habers, relocated to Cartersville, GA in 2003.
Mr. Habers proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force and graduated from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia. After thirty-two years of dedicated employment, Mr. Habers retired from Allstate Insurance as a claims adjuster and supervisor. He was a long-time member of Kings Park United Methodist Church in NY, as well as a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cartersville, GA. He devotedly served as an usher in both churches. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting in upstate NY, snow skiing in the Berkshires, walking his beloved mini-schnauzers, golfing, and rooting for his favorite football and baseball teams. Those who knew him, and loved him, will remember him as a gentle soul with piercing blue eyes who thrived on polite conversation and appreciating the simple things in life.
