Johnnie Dale Corbin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, nanny, sister, and friend, Johnnie Dale Corbin, who departed from this world at the sweet precious age of 80 peacefully at home with her family on September 28, 2026.

Born on August 27, 1946, Johnnie is survived by her son Bobby Leonard (Patricia), her daughter Stacie Ledford (Chris), her cherished grandchildren Megan Lyons (Dalton), Casey Hardin (CJ), Heather Turner (DJ), Emily Lowe, and Kyle Ledford (Karlie), her great grandchildren Miley, Logan, Zayne, Gracelyn, Maislynn, Carter, Easton, Malachi, Karter, Tatum and Riley, brother Clyde Leonard, sister Nancy Clark (Mike), and special lifelong friends Elaine Shepherd and Jean Atchley along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Willie Bell Leonard, her infant son James Allen Griswell, and her sisters Jackie Boston, Bernice Croy, Judy McMillan and Diane Bohannon.

Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her absolute greatest joy in life. She was famously blunt and never hesitated to tell you exactly how she saw things—she was set in her ways and fiercely honest, yet her deep love radiated through every word. She also possessed a championing spirit; in any situation, she was always for the underdog and rooted for them in every way.

A service honoring Johnnie’s life will be held at Owen’s Funeral Home on October 3, 2026. With visitation at 10 am and service at 11am followed by the burial at Wofford Crossroads Church cemetery with minister Kyle Ledford officiating.

Though you are no longer here physically, your spirit and memories will remain with us forever. We love you Mama and we hope you forever rest in peace.
