Joseph A. Jackson Jr.

Mr. Jackson was born June 19, 1923 in Gainesville, Georgia, son of the late Joseph A. Jackson, Sr. and Lela L. Chapman Jackson. He was retired from Lockheed after 36 years service; was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Euharlee Masonic Lodge #457 F. & A.M.for 53 years. He loved trout fishing, hunting and taking family trips to various places. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister & brothers, Cleo Ponder, Dewey Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Euel Jackson, Vernon Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Leatherwood Jackson; children, Donna Jean & Bruce Miller, Jerry & Margaret Jackson, Randy & Christa Jackson, Marvin Terrell “Terry” Jackson; grandchildren, Jerry Todd Jackson, Cori Jackson Franklin, Megan Thacker Fusco, Andrew J. Thacker, Paige Miller, Tara Rowell, Ben Self, Briane Hobbs, Johnny Self; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Ruth Powell; brother, Aubrey A. Jackson; number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning February 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Battles officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery with masonic graveside rites.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Dennis Jackson, Scott Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Alan Long, Greg Leatherwood, Brian Leatherwood, Tim Duvall, Steven Jackson.
