Joyce Ann Salla

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Salla, son Eddie Salla, parents Homer and Effie Nipper, and brother Larry Nipper.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Vicki Smith (Jerry), special sons Tony (Heidi) and Lou (Michele) Salla, granddaughter Joy Smith, sisters Louise Barnes (Tommy), Sharon Ball (Byron), and brother Sammy Nipper (Barbara).

Joyce was a faithful member of Plainville Church, where she loved cooking and hosting the children every Wednesday. She was known for her passion for cooking, especially preparing meals for others. She also proudly owned and operated DeSalla’s Pizza, where her warmth and hospitality were felt by all who visited.

Joyce was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and cherished her time with her Airedale Terrier, Charlie. She was deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by her team at Pruitt Health during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Plainville Church Children's Ministry via the Tithe.ly app, in honor of Joyce's love for nurturing and supporting young people.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Owen Funeral Home on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, April 7th, 2025, at 1:00pm with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 12:00pm in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home — with Bishop Ronnie Chandler officiating.
