On Friday, November 20, 2020, Heaven celebrated the homecoming of June Carol Lewis Goss, age 74, of Cartersville as she left her Earthly body to spend eternity in the arms of her Lord and Savior. June will be deeply missed by her loving husband, family and everyone she encountered. June was born on May 5, 1946 in Cartersville, Georgia, to the late James R. and Mildred (Millie) Lewis.

June was a 1964 graduate of Cass High School and was married on September 4, 1965. June had a passion for senior adult ministries, enjoyed involvement in the Cartersville City School System throughout her children’s education, loved volunteering in various charities and projects, being a friend and role model to many but more than anything, her greatest accomplishment was her love for Christ and her family. June recently celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary with her best friend and the love of her life. She was an amazing and selfless mother and nothing brought her more joy and pride than being a grandmother and sharing in the accomplishments of her five grandchildren.

June is preceded in death by her parents, her loving in-laws, Reverend C.L. and Eunice Goss of White, her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Bob and Joy Lewis May of Cartersville and brother-in-law, Malcolm Goss, Sr. of Hampton.

June is survived by her loving husband, Ron Goss, Sr., her children; Ron (Lorie) Goss, Jr. of Cartersville, Misty June (David) McBrayer of Calhoun; her grandchildren; Michael Goss, Lauren Goss, Calloway Goss, Gunner Millsap and Maggie McBrayer. Missing June is her “fur baby,” Buddy Christmas, who provided so much love, happiness and companionship over the last five years. June leaves behind her sisters, Bobbie (Larry) Davis, Jan (Jim) Boland, Jimmye Lewis Duke, brother-in-law, Ken (Anne) Goss, sister-in-law, Frances Goss; nieces & nephews, Dawn Davis Heisler, Ross (Katie) Davis, Adam (Ariel) Belcher, Evan & Tucker Hammonds, Malcolm Goss, Jr., Randy (Sherri) Goss, Karen (Carl) Herlitz, and Craig Millsap, whom she loved as family, along with several cousins and great nieces and nephews.

A Homegoing Celebration will be conducted Saturday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Pastor Richard Brown and Pastor Patrick Latham officiating and Michael Goss delivering the eulogy. Don Startup and Carmen Green will be ministering in music. June will be laid to rest immediately following at the Center Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor DaRon Henson officiating. Pallbearers include Michael Goss, Gunner Millsap, Calloway Goss, Craig Millsap, Adam Belcher and Jermond Evans. The family will receive friends Friday, December 4th from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home. The family hopes that everyone can attend and due to the current Pandemic, Masks will be provided and required and social distancing will be observed in an effort to protect everyone’s safety and peace of mind.

The Goss family took me in as one of their own many years ago. Thru a few struggles and celebrations, June always made me feel loved and never misplaced. A special place in my heart always for this family. I will miss June and her sweet Southern voice with that sparkle in her eye as she smiled. I wish I could be there during this time but know that I am in spirit. My love always, Lyn

June was always so kind to me and treated me like family always. She shared recipes with me and I still have ornaments on my tree that she gave me years ago. She was always so generous and showed so much empathy and grace towards everyone she came in contact with. We were liver buddies. Not a club we wanted to be in, but it bonded us for life. She will be sorely missed and the world will be a little darker without her light shining. Ron, Misty, Ron Jr, and families please accept my condolences. Your mother was the best of the best. But I don’t have to tell you that. You’ve known it all along. Sending my love and prayers.

Sweet June,

My memories are many of you. When at met you at The Church of God, the first thing I remember was your beautiful smile and precious spirit. I just loved you from day one.

Although we haven't seen each other in a long time, I will always love you. You were a very good person, and I know, without a doubt, you are with Jesus.

I'll see you one day June. You were very loved on this earth❤

June exemplified "love" as an action rather than a feeling. I remember her as a young mother and wife with a husband in service; she looked forward to the R&R in Hawaii! Later, as the mother of a long awaited little girl, she was so happy she practically glowed! As a grandmother, she basked in the affections of her grandchildren. With each role life handed her, June responded with love and compassion. June was a treasure to all who knew and loved her. I am grateful for the many times I spent with her. Ron, you and all who remain to cherish her memory are in my prayers. Love, Beverly
