Keith Paul Oliver, fondly known as Pops, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 29th at the young age of 69. True to form he sported a shirt that said, “I thought growing old would take longer”. He lived by the motto, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. He thought he was invincible and to the family he left behind, he was that…he was larger than life, a superhero. Pop’s was always your first phone call because there was never a situation too big for him to solve. A successful entrepreneur that certainly lived nine lives because of his work ethic and determination. He inspired those around him with his kindheartedness, generosity and unforgettable spirit. This world will not be the same without him. Pop's passing will be mourned deeply but he will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Keith was born July 10, 1955, to the late John and Joyce Oliver in the Bronx, NY. He moved to Miami, Florida in the 1970s, met the love of his life and started a family. In the 1990s they decided to move that family to Cartersville, Georgia for a simpler lifestyle. Eventually settling on a farm in Waleska, Georgia so that he could provide plenty of land to support his wife’s passion, horses. He loved basketball, his swimming pools, his farm, a good book, his 2 Frenchie’s Izzi and Ivie, his loyal friends and most of all his family. He believed every day was a gift from God. He made his bed every day. He appreciated the sunrise over his farm and ended each evening enjoying the sunset over his pool.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years Laura Oliver, three beautiful daughters and son in laws Katie & Keith Smith, Lindsey & Ken McIntyre, and Jenna & Ryan King. His 11 grandchildren Kylee McIntyre, Ethan McIntyre, Julia McIntyre, Mae Mae McIntyre, Sophie McIntyre, Saige King, Journi King, Sway King, Blaise King, Kaden Smith, and Kendall Smith and his sister, Linda Berg.
We love you, always and forever Pops. We promise to take good care of each other, the way you taught us to, and we will never stop celebrating your life and the legacy you leave behind.
