Laura B. Freeman

Mrs. Freeman was born September 25, 1927 in Cherokee County, a daughter of the late Emory Spears Glass and Emma Jane Wheeler Glass. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Freeman enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, trips to the mountains and being near all of her children.

Preceded in death by her husbands, John William Nathaniel Swancey and Gordon L. Freeman, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Cindy and Rob Vickers, of Cartersville, Lois and Chris Headlee, of Cartersville, Judy and Paul Wulf, of Chattanooga, Katherine Wright, of Cartersville, Lloyd and Mary Swancey, of Aragon, Johnny and Sandra Swancey, of Cartersville, Howard and Meki Freeman, and Clara and Thomas Dufano, all of Cartersville, and Michael Freeman, of Cartersville, 30 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mattie Jane Lingerfelt, of Jasper.

She was preceded in death by two children, Jimmy and James William Swancey.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Bobby Gayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Baptist Church cemetery, in Rydal.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Monday.
