

Leamon was born on May 2, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Bartow County and married his high school sweetheart Jean Dodd Hollaran on September 23, 1964. He worked for many years at Union Carbide and for Southeastern Freight Lines and shared ownership of the Iron Gym and Sport Court fitness centers in Cartersville.
He enjoyed loving and spoiling his wife and traveling the world with her, watching sports, taking care of his yard, and was a lifelong fan of racing. He also loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his granddaughters and great grandchildren. He was an Emeritus Volunteer with the Tellus Museum for 16 years, was an original member of the Bartow County Rescue Unit and enjoyed coaching football for the City of Cartersville Recreation Department.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean Hollaran, son Neal (Lori) Hollaran, Jr., daughter Dana (Lance) Walker, granddaughters Meredith (Adam) Smith, Mallory Walker, Rya Hollaran, and Addy Hollaran, two great grand children Everly and Nathan Smith, and two sisters Nancy Hollaran and Anna Hollaran. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Leamon was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Mealor Hollaran and Carl Ellis Hollaran, his brother Carl Hollaran Jr. and his sister Brenda Hollaran Janoulis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 at Owen Funeral Home. All friends and relatives are invited to come and share memories of Leamon.
A private interment will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, Georgia at a later date.
