Lois Rainey

Mrs. Rainey was born on July 17, 1939 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late James Howard Cordell and Leila Amanda Wilson Cordell.

Mrs. Rainey was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The joy of her world was spending quality time with her family and especially her grandchildren and her favorite fur baby, Jackson.

She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud member of New Canaan Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

In her spare time she enjoyed playing the piano and she often played and sang with her brother, Larry Cordell at the church.

Mrs. Rainey is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Charlie Rainey; grandson, Casey Holbrook; several brother and sisters.

Survivors include her children, Barry (Veronica) Rainey, Brenda Rainey Day and Randy (Christy) Rainey; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; a host of nieces and nephews; furbaby, Jackson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 6th of April, 2022 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Cordell, Larry Cordell and Barry Rainey officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Rainey, Casey Barnette, Corey Redd, Timothy Gatewood, Joseph Wilson and Steve Wilkey.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from eleven o'clock in the morning until the hour of service at Owen Funeral Home.
