

She was born July 18, 1923 to Dock Haney and Alma Patterson Haney. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Ferguson; son, Doug Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Ernestine Ferguson; her parents; brothers, Robert Haney and Hollis Haney; sisters, Lenna Goss and Willie Ray McPherson.
She is survived by children, Lloyd Ferguson of Lawrenceville, Linda & David Ingram of Summerville, Larry & Sandra Ferguson of Cedar Bluff, AL, Melissa Ferguson of Emerson, and Lola & Jerry Thomas of Acworth; grandchildren, Sherri & Lee Phillips, Wayne & Kulaya Ferguson, John & Amy Ferguson, David & Mary Ingram, Tim Ingram, Aaron Ferguson, Alexander Ferguson, Matthew Thomas & Jonathan Thomas; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Justin and Faith Phillips, Emily, Tori, Andrew, Trent, Nicholas, Nathan and Kyli Ferguson. She is also survived by sister, Patricia Johnsey, brothers, Ronald, Barry and Kerry Haney; sister-in-law, Frances McElrath and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Ferguson was a homemaker who was known for her love of gardening, cooking and welcoming family and friends to the table. She lived a long and happy life and kept her sweet spirit until the end. She was a long-standing member of Emerson United Methodist Church.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Alred and Rev. Lloyd Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Acworth, Georgia. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers/honorary pallbearers. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to Emerson United Methodist Church, Emerson, Georgia.
