Louise Temples McEver

Mrs. McEver was born on November 14, 1931, to the late Calvin Cicero and Bonnie Eva McBee Young.

Mrs. McEver graduated from Pine Log High School where she was an honor graduate and an outstanding basketball player. She graduated from nursing school and worked for Sam Howell Medical and later was plant nurse for Union Carbide/First Brands Corporation until her retirement.

Mrs. McEver was an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she participated in Pioneers, Ladies Circle and her Sunday School Class. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her GP Girls Breakfast Club. In her spare time, she watched Braves Baseball and the Tennessee Vols girls basketball team. She also loved reading, knitting, crocheting, giving back to her community and serving others.

Mrs. McEver was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Temples and Roy McEver as well as her brother, Philip Young.

Mrs. McEver is survived by her daughter, Joan (Allan) Becton; sons, Don (Mandy) and Gary (Cheryl) Temples; step-daughter, Carol Maceikis; grandchildren, Camille and Caroline Temples, Heather (Mike) Vaughn, Alice Kay and Eva Vaughn, Dustin and Matthew Maceikis, Jeff, Caleb, Briana and Addison Dunagan; sister-in-law, Bobbie Kincannon; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 26th of November, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. J. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Rydal, GA.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from three o’clock in the afternoon until seven on Saturday, the 25th of November, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Pine Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1475, Cartersville, GA 30120.

The family would like to express their gratitude to a special group of ladies who spent many hours with their Mother: Sarah Huber, Gail Wilson, Janice Beck, Betty Keeling, Lucy Bertran, Joyce Galloway, Kitty Carte, Nancy Webb and Linda Waldon. Words are inadequate to express our love and heartfelt thanks to each of you that supported, cared for and loved our Mom. The family would also like to thank others that visited during her brief illness.
