

Louise Marie Phillips, age 78, of White, Georgia, passed away on May 16, 2026. She was born in Cartersville, Georgia, on February 16, 1948, to the late Joel “Joe” Ferguson and Fannie Lou Pless Ferguson.
Along with her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her son, Brian Joel Phillips, and her infant sister, Norma Jean Ferguson.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Posey; nieces, Lori Kinsell and Amy Newman (Stephen); great-nieces, Camryn Newman, Alexa “Lexi” Newman, and Stacy Kinsell; great-nephews, James Kinsell and Josh Kinsell; and great-great-niece, Aubriana Kinsell.
Louise attended Cartersville High School and retired from the accounting department at Georgia Power after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
She was a sweetheart who loved her family deeply. She was a loyal friend and had an adorable sense of humor. As a single mother, she lived each day for her son, Brian. She loved being a mother and wholeheartedly supported his activities and dreams. Louise enjoyed watching him play baseball, helping him through college at Kennesaw State University, and even sharing in his hobbies, including NASCAR.
She also adored the many animals she cared for throughout the years, especially her cats, as well as Brian’s two dogs after his passing.
Louise had a strong Catholic faith and was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cartersville.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia 30120, on May 23, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow beside of her son, Brian in Oak Hill Cemetery.
