Lucyna Kubicka Wilder, age 95, went to be with the Lord September 5, 2020. Lucy was born in Kalisz, Poland and was a WWII survivor and war bride. Lucy married Doyle Wilder, who was in the US Army in Germany and came to the United States where she became a citizen. She and Doyle raised their four children in Jamestown, Alabama. She enjoyed music and played the accordion and harmonica to the delight of her family and friends, and telling her life story and how she was fortunate to work for the American army, meeting her husband and having an amazing wedding among the army and friends. She never met a stranger and her faith was very strong. She will be remembered as our most beloved Mother and dearest friend and how much she loved her family, always putting them first. She will be missed greatly.

Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband Doyle. She is survived by her children, Leila Brewer of Montgomery, AL; Glenda White (Robert) of Duluth, GA; Doyle Robert “Bobby” Wilder (Elaine) of Cartersville, GA; Nola Jean Humphries of Kingston, GA; grandchildren, Joel Brewer, Curtis Brewer, Misty Eve Eubanks; Drew White, Jason White; Stephanie Wilder; Wesley Humphries, Ginger Humphries-Hasek; and several great-grandchildren.

Lucy will Lie-In-State on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM. The interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucy’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Please visit www.owenfunerals.com to leave condolences for the family. Mrs. Wilder was a wonderful woman. She lived such an interesting life. My husband and I have such good memories of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder when we were growing up. God bless them both.

So sorry for your loss. She was a great lady, who always had a smile and a story to tell . I will never forget the homemade donuts she would come out to mama’s and make for all of us we all thought we had died and gone to heaven. She was a person who you will never forget!!

I have great childhood memories of Mrs Lucy. Donuts-ice cream! Love going to her house she was always full of life! She was always so good to us !! I will always have those memories in my heart of SWEET Lucy!! She was one of the Best!!!!

I visited with Lucyna many times when she was with Glenda. She always had a beautiful smile and was happy and so loving towards me. I will miss her.

Martha and I wish to covey our sympathy to the family of Mrs, Wilder. I had the pleasure of talking with her several times and listening to her stories about the war. God saved her to have a good life. I know the family will miss her, but she has a body with no pain now.
