Margaret Sue Ward

Margaret Sue Deal Ward age 84 of Cartersville, GA passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Douglasville, GA on April 11, 1941 to William Guy Deal and Wilmuth Mildred Joyner Deal.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, William and Wilmuth Deal, husband of 64 years Tom Ward Sr.; great-grandson, Sonny James Young. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Angie) Ward and Billy (Willene) Ward; daughter, Bonnie (Sonny) Dunn; special daughter in love, Anita (Henry) Jones; grandchildren; Brandy and Scott Murphy, Jay and Cait Parrozzo, Joe and Randi Slye, Natalie and Bill Claypole, Kerri and Ty Davis, Rhonda and Jason Cochran, Chip and Ashley Dunn, David and Bridget Young and Brendon Dunn; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Jett (crazy aunt Brenda); special friends, Susiann Brock, Victoria Glance and Janice Barnette.

Margaret was a faithful member of Brandon’s Chapel Baptist church for over 21 years.

The family would like to send their deepest thanks to Transitions Hospice and especially nurse Heather for the exceptional care that was provided during the last few months of Margaret's life. Also the her care takers, Khristie, Michelle, Natalie, Elaine, Cindy and Kim for loving her and caring for her like she was family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Jacobs and Scott Murphy officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Brendon Dunn, Chip Dunn, Patrick Murphy, Scott Murphy, Miles Davis, Ty Davis, Mason Roberson, Jason Cochran, Joey Slye and Jay Parrozzo.
