Martha King

Martha Elizabeth (Libby) Howell King, age 79, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Cartersville, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013. Mrs. King was employed by L&N Railroad and later Chemical Products and Riverside Products before moving to Mount Pleasant. Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Harris E. Howell and Sue Knight Howell. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, LtCol Melvin Eugene King (ret); daughter Melanie King Miller, and her husband Jack Miller; daughter Melinda King Esper, and her husband George Esper; son Mel King, Jr and his wife Kathy King; her grandchildren Grace King, Addison King, Ashley McDonald, Emma Claire King, Danielle Miller and Sean Esper; brother Robert Howell and his wife Emma Howell; brother Jim Howell and his wife Martha Jane Howell; sister Katie H Fields and her husband Erwin (Bud) Fields; sister-in-laws Daisy King and Doris Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13th, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Joey Chastain, Greg Fain, Randy Hanson, Brian Howell, David Howell, and Billy Noble. Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
