Mary Lucy Montgomery

Mary Lucy Montgomery, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 8th 2025. Born in Milledgeville, Georgia, to Bruce and Lucy Roberson, Mary lived a life defined by her devotion to family and service to her community.

Mary was a loving wife to her husband, Dwain, and a nurturing mother to her two sons, Mark (married to Brittany) and Matt (married to Latasha). She cherished her role as a grandmother to Colson, Kyle, Blair, Karis, Harper, and Jackson, filling their lives with warmth and love. Mary is also survived by her sister, Ann Burger, and her husband, Lee Burger.

For many years, Mary dedicated herself to the families of Cartersville City Schools as a social worker, where her compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on countless lives. Her kindness, empathy, and tireless advocacy for children and families will be remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 on 16 August 2025 at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville. Visitation will take place at 1:00 that day.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Cartersville Schools Foundation,GateKey Scholarship Program, PO Box 3310, Cartersville.

Mary’s legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the Cartersville community.
