

Mrs. Nelson was born on March 4, 1949 in Greenville, South Carolina the daughter of Joseph Lester and Sara Skelton Bozeman. She grew up in Kennesaw where her family had a long and prominent history.
In 1967 she married Dolph Nelson, Jr.
Vicki was a well respected and active member of the Cartersville community. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. As an animal lover, Vicki was a founding member of the current Etowah Valley Humane Society. She was an active member of the Laurel Magnolia Ladies Club.
Mrs. Nelson was predeceased by her father and her beloved aunt and uncle, Charles and Carolyn Bozeman and is survived by her husband, Dolph, her daughter, Victoria (Tori) Taylor and her husband Steven and their children Tatum and Emma, of Metter, Ga., a son, Dolph (Tripp) Nelson 111 and his wife Kim and their children, Dolph (Ivy) Nelson IV and Coleman of Cartersville. She is also survived by her mother, Sara Frey and brother Joe Bozeman and his wife June all of Kennesaw. Also surviving are her extended family Eunice and Terry Jones, Martha and Jim Slaughter and Donna Geiger and several nieces and nephews. Many friends also mourn her passing.
A memorial service for Mrs. Nelson will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home from 4:00 till 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2011.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Nelson may be made to the Building Fund of Sam Jones United Methodist Church, 100 W. Church Street, Cartersville, Ga. 20120 or the Etowah Valley Humane Society, 36 Ladd’s Mountain Road, Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
