Mary "Selma" Rutledge-Branton

Mrs. Branton was born September 27, 1940 in Cartersville, a daughter of the late Paul Anderson Kimbrel and Mary Selena Hughes.

Mrs. Branton was a beloved mother, sister and grandmother. She was an avid seamstress who enjoyed making her own clothing. Her true passion was spending time with her family. She loved to sit in a rocker on her front porch and watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren play out in the yard. Some of her greatest memories were monthly dinners she held at her house with the entire family in attendance. They would eat, sit with each other and talk and tell stories, and most importantly, laugh. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Branton was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Rutledge; second husband, William (Bill) Branton; brothers-in-laws, George Smith and Harold Henson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Linda Rutledge of White, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Lee Cochran of White, GA; sisters Pat Smith and Brenda Barge; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Sue and Danny Abernathy and Sarah Smith and Roy Morris; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Pam Kimbrel; grandchildren, Shelly and Ricky Sheriff, Tony Rutledge, Niki and Brandon Hammock, Angela and Dana Greenway; great grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Sheriff, Hunter Hammock and David and Delilah Greenway.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Interment will immediately follow from White Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 Pm, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Owen Funeral Home.
