Matt Aliberti, age 39, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020. Matt was born on September 4, 1980 in Springfield, MA, son of Michael Aliberti and Dale Clancy Aliberti. Matthew Aliberti was the epitome of an exceptional man who was loved by everyone around him. He was known for his booming voice, which was somehow a mix of a northern accent with a hint of southern twang. Matt was an unsung war hero who had a passion for service to both his fellow man and his community. He served with honor in the United States Army, as a military contractor, and as a Deputy Sheriff. While as a deputy, Matt refused to do the bare minimum. He pushed to be the best at everything that was placed in his path. Matt excelled as a deputy, a S.W.A.T. Team member, a sniper, and a K-9 handler. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, a brave soldier, a trusted mentor, a humble warrior, and so much more to many. We will remember you for your larger-than-life personality, your entertaining method of “fixing” things that never seemed to pan out, your contagious smile, your “Alibertitude,” and your big heart. Rest easy, Matt, you deserve it. Till we see you again. We love you. Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmine L. Aliberti and Evelyn Katz Aliberti and Walter Clancy, Jr. and Gram Hendry Clancy; Survivors include his parents; loving wife, Jessie Aliberti; children, Michaela, Delilah and Zackery; his faithful K-9 partner, Halo; brother, Jeff (Erica) Aliberti; nephew and niece, Oskar and Adelin Aliberti; A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1200 hours on Friday, the 26th of June, 2020 at the Church at Liberty Square with Eric Helms officiating. Serving as pallbearers are George Murchison, Lewis Hardeman, Patrick Estapa, Johnathan Shirley, Corbett Tomsovic and Daniel Weathers. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Gifford and the Bartow County SWAT Team. Graveside services will follow at 1430 hours at The Georgia National Cemetery. Matt was larger than Life and still is. Many of us will be struggling with the hole he leaves in our lives and hearts for a long time to come. Hopefully we will honor him with the way we live the rest of our lives. Following in his footsteps will be a noble pursuit indeed. God Bless You and those precious children, Jessie.

We have known you from a baby through manhood. You were always strong minded and determined to be the best there is in whatever you did. You accomplished so much in a small amount of time. You were a great family man with three lovely children who adored you. Your accomplishments in the service and in the police force were admired by many. You were definitely a team player and will be missed by all who served and worked with you. Our deepest sympathy to your family and mom.
