Born: 10/11/31
Passed: 3/20/20
He was our Dad, our Papa, a great grand-dad, a brother, a uncle, and a friend. He was a part of the U.S. Airforce and served his country in the Korean war. He loved his country and considered it such an honor to have the opportunity in service.
He was full of grit, determination and worked hard to be successful. After life in the service, he went on to work as an electrical line man while pursuing night schooling to become an Electrician. During this time, he also worked on his career as he forged a path to becoming the Superintendent for Marietta City Hall. He served at Marietta City Hall for 30 years.
His life story is woven with aspirations, achievements, love of God, family and country. He was as the old saying would go... A man's man with a good heart.
In his younger years, he was a hunter and a fisherman. He spent many a day in deer stands and found excitement in fishing at different lakes and streams. He loved to build and built two homes for his family. He was an excellent provider and ensured that the needs of his loved ones were met.
He was witty and sarcastic- a humor that could sometimes bite but most often would result in hardy laughter- the kind you'd feel in your stomach or that would bring tears to your eyes. He never met a stranger and was always interested in people and what they were experiencing as well as sharing part of his own story.
Above all he cherished his relationship with God and encouraged his family as well as others to always reach for God and to get in a good church. His Christian family was very important to him as he was a member at Liberty Square for many years.
While he didn't have the chance to say goodbye to all that he loved, you must know that he loved us all very dearly and would wish us the best for now and throughout our lives.
