Michael James Heffernan

Mr. Heffernan was born August 20, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, son of Marion Thomas Heffernan and the late Nathaniel Heffernan. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran with over 41 years service and was retired from Digital Equipment Corporation as an IT Engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia VanWagenen of Acworth, GA; children, Daniel Heffernan of Canton, GA and Adam Heffernan of Monroe, GA; grandchildren, Joshua, Lucas and Jackson; step-daughter, Laurie Johansen of Port Jefferson, NY; step-grandchildren, Paige Johansen of Centereach, NY, Cassandra Johansen and Erik Johansen both of Port Jefferson, NY; his mother, Marion Heffernan of Amityville, NY; brother, Wayne Heffernan of Massapequa, NY also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon December 2nd at 4:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel . Interment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL at a later date.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.
