

He was born on November 15, 1936 in Bartow County to the late, Lonnie James and Lucille Young Summey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Willie Mozell Benson Summey and brother, John Edward Summey.
Milton is survived by his daughters, Deborah Charlene Agan and Angela Spires (Tim); grandchildren, Lauran Agan Ward (Wright), Catherine Agan, Baylor Agan, Jessika Ali, Adrian Wehunt (Mary) Jacob Wehunt (Rakia), Macy Spires, Amber Lynch (Christian) and David Spires; great-grandchildren, Kaison Ward, Kohen Ward, Kinley Ward, Lily Lemke, Anara Wehunt and Evalynn Wehunt; niece, Nancy S. Krasnesky.
Milton was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, over 50-year member of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge, and a Shriner. He retired with 43 years of service with Lockeed Martin.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Milton always had a smile in his face. He had donated over 37 pints of blood to the America Red Cross. He never met a stranger and lived to serve others in need, whether financially or just lending a helping hand. He also took many children to have treatment at the Shriner’s Hospital in South Carolina. Milton LIVED by the Golden Rule in Matthew 7:12, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you: do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”
He leaves behind a strong legacy for his children, grandchildren and all that knew and loved him. He will be strongly missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 from 5-8pm and on Tuesday beginning at 1pm at Owen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be Conducted on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 2pm from the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with David Baker officiating. Pallbearers, will be Baylor Agan, Jacob Wehunt, Adrian Wehunt and Christian Lynch, Honorary pallbearers, Tim Spires and David Spires. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
