

Osma was born August 12,1919, to the late Arthur W. and Bertie H. Wilbanks. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years and the father of her children, James Calvin Jackson, second husband, Howard David Commons, infant son, William Calvin Jackson, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her two children, James Hardy Jackson, of Dallas, Texas and Sherry J. Stephens, of Cartersville. Grandsons Scott Jackson, wife Donna and children Kelsey and J.C. of Gainesville, Texas and Craig Jackson, wife Katy and children Savannah and Drake of Trophy Club, Texas. Granddaughter Heather White, husband Bogin and children Tatum, Hunter, and Addison of Calhoun, Georgia. Two special nieces, Pam Greene and Jan Hill.
Osma was born and spent 90 years of her life in the Atco Village community. She was employed for many years with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, EZ Mills, and various carpet mills.
Osma was a dedicated member of Atco Baptist Church. She joined the church at the young age of 22 and was the oldest living member. Osma was a very active member of the church having been a Deacon’s wife, Sunday School teacher, Sunbeam leader, member of the choir and one of her favorite responsibilities was helping with Vacation Bible School every summer.
Osma lived life to the fullest. She lived her last four years at Townsend Park and Rehab Center, confined to a wheelchair and that chair didn’t slow her down. She loved the people who cared for her and gave them quite a challenge at times. Feisty Miss Osma loved her Lord, her family, her friends,
her pearls, red fingernail polish, skinny jeans and her boots.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 20, 5-7 pm at Owen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 21 at 2:00 pm at Atco Baptist Church with Pastors Mike Boatfield and Doug Harris officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be: Scott Jackson, Craig Jackson, Drake Jackson, Bogin White, Hunter White and Barry Greene.
