Pamela Lafaye Barton

Pamela LaFaye Barton, age 74 of Cartersville, GA passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was born in Cartersville, GA on September 26, 1950 to Thomas Felton Gentry and Faye Ellen Satterfield Gentry.

Pam is preceded in death by her son, Jay Barton and her parents Thomas and Faye Gentry. She is survived by her grandsons, Jason and Josh Barton of Cartersville; brother, Tommy (Tammy) Gentry; sisters, Kathi (Brad) Martin, Peggy Gentry. Pam is also survived by nieces and nephews Melody Turner, Christopher (Jessica) Turner, Sarah Beth (Jackson) Wright, Alyssa (David) Randall, Kari Ingle, Cody Gentry, Ashley Gentry, Jake (Kristen) Gentry and Elle Rampley, along with several grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Etowah Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Satterfield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pam was saved at Oakland Heights Baptist Church in 1959, and baptized by her grandfather Rev. O. A. Satterfield to become a member of Etowah Valley Baptist Church, where she still belongs.

Pam was a loving and devoted mother to her son Jay and loved her grandsons very much. She overcame breast cancer and many other obstacles in her life with strength and grace, becoming an example of resilience to her family. She always put others before herself and loved her brother, sisters, nieces, nephews and all her aunts, uncles and cousins with unconditional love.
