Paul Richard Cornette

Paul was born in Detroit, MI., but moved to Hillsboro, KY at the age of 11. As Paul got older, He worked the tobacco fields while spending time with his Aunt Katherine and cousins; they were his best friends. As time passed, his cousin Harold Lewis became his best friend who he continued to hold dear throughout his life. Paul joined the army at the age of 16, He served during Vietnam as an E4 but did not go to combat. He spent his life trucking and hauling. He loved to spend his free time working on small motors and teaching his grandchildren how to work on them too. Several good moments were spent with his grandchildren in the garage listening to the radio and tinkering on small motors. Paul was deeply loved and cherished by his family and will be missed everyday.

Paul is preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Cornette Lofasso.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; Sue Barnes Cornette; Children: Tara Cornette, Trinity Cornette, and Son-In-Love Curt Atkins.; Siblings: Diane Vance, Kitty (Phil) Maddox, and Sharon (Bob) Crockett; Grandchildren: Jessalyn (Aaron) Hinkle, Hope (Marcus) McGhee, Bryce Atkins, Allie Atkins, Seth Cornette, and Maddie (Taylor) McClain; Great-grandchildren: Kaylin Waits, Makenna Hinkle, Jackson Hinkle, Maverick Hinkle, Hadley Hinkle, Hudson Henley, Ella McGhee, Lynnlee McClain, and Josephine Cornette.

He was not just a sibling, but a true friend and guiding light in our lives. His laughter could brighten the darkest days, and his kindness knew no bounds. He taught us the importance of family, and his unwavering support inspired us to be our true selves. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We will cherish the countless memories we shared, the lessons he imparted, and the love he gave so freely.

Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 3-5pm. Saturday August 9, 2025 from 11am until 8pm and on Sunday, August 10, 2025 beginning at 12pm. Funeral Services for Paul will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Nathan Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Bryce Atkins, Aaron Hinkle, Marcus McGhee, Jackie Jarrett, John Tyson, and Jared Hinkle.
